Artist Statement

I take inspiration directly from my day-to-day, finding excitement in the mundane and daily activities. I bring my daily experiences to my art in the form of portraits, still lifes, and landscapes, through watercolor and other 2D media. My approach when creating comes from wanting to focus on singular elements, leading to a playful and delicate interweaving of the negative and positive.

The arts are something that connect us to one another. I find this not only in my practice, but also in my teaching. Being able to educate others in the visual arts and spread the enjoyment we can find from creating assists me in my own creative practices. It makes me think about how others view the world and broadens my own point of view.
